During this workshop Kym will guide you through each of the stages to make your own Cleo Skirt. Choosing a size, cutting out, and sewing up, she's got you covered!

The Cleo Skirt can be made in nine women’s sizes: xxs-xl & plus sizes 1-3. If your measurements fall outside this size range please get in touch before booking.

What is included:

  • A copy of the Cleo skirt sewing pattern by Made by Rae.
  • Kym’s expert guidance and company for the day.

SKILL LEVEL: Perfect for beginners and those wishing to start making their own clothes. You do need to have some sewing machine experience for this course, but not necessarily dressmaking experience. 

What you will need:

  • Fabric to make your skirt - Woven light to medium weight fabric such as lawn, voile, double gauze, poplin, shirting, baby wale corduroy, sateen, silk, quilting cotton, linen, or cotton-linen blends. - please see size chart for fabric quantities. If you are struggling, please just get in touch.
  • Matching polyester thread.
  • 30mm elastic for waist.
  • 0.25m of light weight fusible interfacing.
  • OPTIONAL : Your own sewing machine (see below for details on workshop machines).

Class Sewing Machines and Tools

Here at Jenny Stitches we want sewing to be as accessible for as many people as possible! We have a number of in house Janome sewing machines available for use at no additional charge. We also provide basic tool kits. If however, you prefer to use your own machine and tools, please feel free to bring them along with you on the day.

Participant discounts

All class attendees will be entitled to a 15% discount on all fabrics required for the class if purchasing from Jenny Stitches.

Meet your tutor

Winner of the C4 Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas Best Stocking Competition, all round sewing aficionado and full time live in curator in an actual castle(!) Kym loves sewing and crafts and always has lots of creative projects on the go all at the same time. She is passionate about sharing sewing and craft projects and this is how ‘MAKE! Lunch is not provided. We encourage you to try one of our lovely town centre food retailers, or you're welcome to being a packed lunch.
